Mr. Fisher was recently appointed as the Development Officer at the Marine Corps University Foundation, where he supports the Foundation’s mission to advance education, leadership development, and strategic innovation for the United States Marine Corps. In this role, he helps strengthen the institution’s national impact through major giving, donor engagement, and mission-driven fundraising initiatives.
J. Michael Fisher, CFRE is a dedicated nonprofit leader whose commitment to serving those who have served is shaped by his own experience as a U.S. Navy veteran. With more than a decade of leadership in fundraising, operations, and donor engagement, he has built a distinguished career advancing the missions of organizations supporting veterans, national institutions, and communities across the country.
In his most recent role, Mr. Fisher served as the Vice President of Customer Success and Sales at Charity Engine, a CRM and SaaS provider for nonprofit organizations. There, he applied deep sector expertise to strengthen the operational capacity of nonprofits nationwide. His strategic guidance helped hundreds of organizations expand their reach and exceed fundraising goals.
Over the course of his career, he has raised more than $100 million for veterans’ initiatives. Including a successful campaign raising over $400,000 to replace the Shrine room Wall of the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The memorial wall was rededicated on Veteran’s Day 2017.
Mr. Fisher is widely recognized for his ability to drive innovation in donor engagement and steering transformative strategies. His impact extends across higher education, professional sports, and Fortune 100 companies, where he has delivered measurable growth and strengthened national brands, including collaborations with major sports organizations in Washington, D.C.
A seasoned leader in sales, marketing, and development, Mr. Fisher has consistently earned the trust of boards, executive teams, and nonprofit leaders. His work reflects a steadfast dedication to advancing mission-driven organizations and supporting those who safeguard our nation.
Mr. Fisher’s academic achievements include a Master of Sports Administration and Facility Management and a Bachelor of Organizational Communication from Ohio University and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University. Additionally, he is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management. He and his family reside in Fairfax Station, VA area.
