Wargaming Capabilities on Display at Marine Corps University

Marine Corps University recently hosted a wargaming capabilities demonstration that brought together current international students, their U.S. sponsors, and foreign defense attachés. The event highlighted the University’s commitment to advancing strategic thinking, multinational collaboration, and professional military education in a shared learning environment.

The demonstration began with an overview of the Krulak Center for Innovation and Future Warfare, learning about its mission, current wargaming efforts, and future opportunities for engagement. The briefing also introduced several specific games designed to explore strategic, operational, and tactical challenges. Following the overview, attendees rotated among multiple tables to engage in hands-on demonstrations of each game, allowing them to experience the capabilities firsthand while interacting with their peers and the facilitators.

In attendance were a number of alumni. The inclusion of alumni alongside current students reinforced the enduring professional bonds fostered at Marine Corps University, while international students, their U.S. sponsors, and foreign defense attachés enriched discussions with global viewpoints and practical insights. These exchanges emphasized the value of wargaming as a tool for experimentation, dialogue, and shared understanding among partner nations.

The Marine Corps University Foundation generously provided refreshments, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged informal conversation and networking. Through continued donations, the Foundation supports essential purchases for Marine Corps University, directly enhancing student learning and ensuring future students have the resources needed to succeed.
