Bio

James R. Futrell is a retired United States Marine Corps Sergeant Major who spent more than 33 ½ years on active duty. He presently serves as a Management Analyst for the Marine Corps Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Manpower Information System Division, Quantico Va. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Associates Degree in General Studies. He has attended several Military schools and Leadership Academies during his military career.  He served a combat tour during Desert Storm/Desert Shield and participated in operations in the Persian Gulf and Beirut, Lebanon with COMIDEASTFORCE.  Participated in a CENTCOM AOR TOUR with Senior Enlisted Leaders from all branches of the military to serve as advisors for Afghanistan and Iraqi Armies. He attended the Keystone Command Senior Enlisted Course in Joint and Combined Studies at the National Defense University, Washington, D.C.

As a Department of Defense civilian, Mr. Futrell advises the Manpower Information System Division on matters relating to Administration Advocacy which is dedicated solely to the coordination, research, analysis and dissemination of issues initiated by the administration community. While maintaining an effective relationship and while gaining cooperation of advocates subject matter experts, supervisors, managers and co-workers on complex or controversial administrative issues.
